South Wales Warriors 8 - 13 Peterborough Saxons
The Peterborough Saxons made the long journey to South Wales to start their Premiership campaign this past Sunday against the South Wales Warriors.
The Saxons got off to a slow start and went in 6-0 down at the half. However, they went on to show grit and determination in the 4th Quarter with 2 long scoring drives both ending with the same result. Both Touchdown passes were thrown by Cameron Fields and caught by Jason Bradshaw. After an earlier safety, the South Wales Warriors got the ball back with roughly 1 minute 30 seconds left on the clock and all 3 timeouts with the score at 8-13. However, the Saxons D held strong once again as they did all game and it was all over after a last ditch effort was picked off by veteran Wayne Gumbs.
The Saxons are 1-0 this year and must now look forward to their next game against local rivals the Cambridgeshire Cats who have also got off to a 1-0 start.
Offensive MVP: Jason Bradshaw
